Neem Cake Powder (Neem Khali)

Neem khali is made from the seeds of the neem tree after the oil has been pressed out, and it does two jobs in the garden. It adds organic nutrients to the soil, and it carries natural compounds from the neem that help keep soil insects such as grubs and ants away from roots. That makes it a popular choice for potted plants, vegetables and roses, especially in the monsoon when soil pests are most active. Mix a spoonful into the topsoil of a pot, or work a little into the bed around plants and water well, once every few weeks. It pairs well with cow dung compost or vermicompost.
