What Birds Look for in a Feeder
Birds are most likely to use a feeder when it is placed in a spot that feels safe, quiet, and easy to access. A balcony corner, railing, window grill, tree or garden area works well when there is some open space around it, but not too much disturbance from people, pets, or loud movement. They also prefer places where they can perch nearby, look around, and fly away easily if they feel unsafe. In general, birds feel more comfortable in spaces that have a slightly natural feel around them, with plants, shade, or nearby greenery making the feeder seem more familiar and inviting.
