About the Slide Roof Coir Bird House
This bird house is a square box of thick, pressed coconut coir with a round entrance on the front. Its roof slopes down towards the front and juts out over the doorway, so rain runs off and the entrance stays shaded even in the midday sun. A cord through the top lets you hang it from a hook, branch or balcony railing. Coir lets air through, keeping the inside airy in warm weather and sheltered on cooler days. It suits house sparrows, munias and similar small birds looking for a quiet place to rest or nest. Hang it a little above head height with some leafy cover nearby, and birds will have a safe place to perch before they head inside.
