About the Pine Wood Bird Home
This bird house has a half-round body made from strips of pine wood, fixed to a tall flat back board that mounts on a wall. A round entrance hole sits in the front face with a short wooden perch below it, so birds can land and check the coast is clear before going in. The natural pine finish shows off the wood grain and looks good on plain walls and among plants. The closed body keeps wind and rain out, and the back board holds it steady on a balcony wall, pillar or fence. It suits house sparrows, munias and similar small garden birds. Put it up before the nesting season, and you may soon see a pair taking turns at the doorway.
