About the Octagon Shape Pine Wood Bird House
This bird house is built from strips of light pine wood shaped into an eight-sided drum, with a round entrance hole in the front face. It is left in its natural wood finish, so the grain shows through and it suits both plain walls and green corners. The back sits flat, so it can be fixed to a wall, pillar or fence on a balcony or in a garden. The enclosed shape keeps out wind and rain and gives house sparrows, munias and similar small birds a sheltered place to rest or nest. Sparrows often return to the same nesting spot year after year, so a well-placed house like this can become a familiar home for them.
