About the Drop Shape Hanging Coir Bird Nest
This nest is woven from coconut coir into a long drop shape: a slim neck at the top, a rounded belly in the middle and a pointed tail underneath. The round entrance sits in the widest part, opening into a snug chamber. The neck ends in a loop, so it hangs from a hook, branch or balcony railing and moves gently like a nest in a tree. Thick coir walls let air through and keep the inside sheltered from wind and rain, through the summer heat and the monsoon. It suits house sparrows, munias and other small garden birds. Hang it among plants or from a shaded branch, and its natural brown colour will make it look like it has always been there.
