About the D Shaped Small Food Feeder

This small green plastic cup is shaped like the letter D: the flat back sits snugly against cage bars or wire mesh, and the rounded front holds the food. Because it stays flat against the wire, it takes up very little room inside a cage and is hard for birds to knock over. Use one for seed and another for fresh water, so your budgies, lovebirds or finches always have both close at hand. It also works on a balcony mesh, where sparrows and munias will come to a cup of kagni. The cup is light and sturdy, and it slips off for a quick wash and refill, which makes a fresh change of water each day easy to keep up.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions
How long before birds start visiting?

Usually a few days to a few weeks. Birds watch a new spot from a distance first. Keep it in one place and fill it at the same time each day; once they trust it, they come back daily.

Is bird food included?

No, bird food is sold separately. Our Millets Kagani (foxtail millet) suits sparrows, munias and most small garden birds.

Where should I hang it?

In a quiet, shaded spot at head height or higher, with open space around it so birds can see who's coming. A balcony grill, window or tree branch works well, out of reach of cats.

How do I clean it?

Empty out old seed and rinse it with water every week, more often in the rains. Let it dry fully before you refill it.
